Belagavi is a town in northwest Karnataka, India. It is the headquarters of the Belgaum district.The Hindalco (Hindustan Aluminium Corporation Limited) is located at Belgaum. Belgaum also has a number of training centers of the Indian Armed Forces, and an airbase of the Indian Air Force. Belgaum is known for its pleasant climate all round the year. Belgaum is also an important educational center. Consisting of engineering colleges, medical colleges, and some of the dental colleges across the city and district. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is the biggest university in Karnataka for technical education (for BE, M.Tech., MCA, MBA) is based in Belgaum. Basic degree colleges, polytechnic colleges, and Law colleges are other educational institutions.
