The idea behind setting up the Polytechnic was to impart quality technical education, to girl students from economically weaker section of the society.
The Institute started with two Diploma courses in Engineering Disciplines, viz. Architecture and Computer Science. Today, VPP is offering diploma education in Six disciplines.
The Institute has seen a steady growth in students’ intake, from 50 to 310 over a span of 34 years, while total staff strength has gone up from 3 to 60 in the same period. be raised.
